OUR APPROACH

Centered Around the Whole Child

Understanding each child's strengths, needs, and everyday world.

At Birch Behavior, we consider each child's strengths, communication, preferences, relationships, routines, and environment. Learning is woven into play and everyday experiences, with structured teaching incorporated when it supports the child's individual needs.

Evidence-based strategies, observation, and ongoing data guide teaching and support meaningful progress across everyday life.

Our Core Values

What Guides Our Care

Grounded in Science

Thoughtful decisions. Meaningful goals. Individualized care.

Evidence-based practice, individualized assessment, and ongoing data guide clinical decisions while keeping treatment focused on practical skills that matter in everyday life.

Understand Before We Teach

Looking beyond behavior to understand what may be influencing it.

We consider communication, strengths, preferences, routines, relationships, and environment to better understand each child's needs and identify respectful, individualized ways to teach.

Together in the Process

Because families deserve a voice in their child's care.

We listen, collaborate, and combine clinical expertise with your knowledge of your child to shape priorities, goals, and strategies that fit everyday family life.

DIRECT BCBA-LED CARE

Experienced Clinical Support, Every Step of the Way

At Birch Behavior, ABA therapy is provided directly by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This allows assessment, teaching, data review, caregiver collaboration, and clinical decision-making to remain closely connected throughout your child's care.

Our approach combines clinical expertise with compassionate, individualized support designed around each child's strengths, needs, and everyday environment.

Vijeta Desai, M.Ed., BCBA

Founder & Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Vijeta Desai is the founder of Birch Behavior and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with over five years of experience in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis. She earned her Master of Education in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of Cincinnati and has had the privilege of working alongside children and families across home, school, and community settings.

Her interest in psychology, child development, and how children learn continues to shape her work. Vijeta enjoys getting to know each child's personality, interests, strengths, and unique way of learning. What she finds most meaningful is seeing children develop new skills, gain greater independence, and experience new opportunities—and sharing those moments of progress with their families.

These experiences inspired Vijeta to create Birch Behavior, a practice for families seeking highly specialized, BCBA-led ABA care with a personal and individualized approach. She believes therapy can be both purposeful and enjoyable, with genuine connection providing an important foundation for learning and growth.

Her work is grounded in evidence-based practice while emphasizing dignity, autonomy, meaningful skill development, and family collaboration. Her commitment to advocacy and passion for continued learning guide her in providing thoughtful, responsive care. Vijeta values listening to caregivers, understanding what matters most to their family, and supporting skills that make a meaningful difference in everyday life.

Outside of her professional life, Vijeta enjoys spending time with family, getting creative with craft projects, organizing, and unwinding with a good show.
